Crosses and Madonnas stolen from the cemetery in Mackenzell
Between Saturday (May 9th) at 3 p.m. and Wednesday (May 13th) at 8:45 p.m., the unknown perpetrators stole a total of two bronze crosses and two bronze Madonna figures. The police announced this in a press release.
Witnesses who observed suspicious people or vehicles in the area of the cemetery during the crime are asked to contact the East Hesse police headquarters on (0661) 1050 or any other office. The police are also calling on people to report suspicious sightings at cemeteries immediately – in an emergency by calling 110.
The case is not an isolated case: Thefts of grave decorations – mainly made of bronze – occur again and again in East Hesse. It was only at the beginning of April that perpetrators struck a cemetery in Kalbach and stole a figure of Mary from a tomb.
