Hanau – The incident occurred during the verdict on Wednesday (May 20). The defendant, who was handcuffed, jumped over his table and hit the prosecutor in the head. She suffered, among other things, a bruised skull and abrasions and had to receive medical treatment, as the Hanau regional court announced.

Two sergeants also suffered minor injuries. Four sergeants in the courtroom immediately intervened. The defendant was taken to a cell. An hour later, police officers continued the sentencing. The Grand Criminal Chamber sentenced the man to prison for, among other things, dangerous bodily harm.
Preventive detention was also ordered. Hesse's Justice Minister Christian Heinz (CDU) and Attorney General Torsten Kunze were shocked by the incident. “One thing must be clear: Anyone who attacks judicial employees is attacking the rule of law,” explained the Justice Minister in Wiesbaden.
