
The former Kerber department store in Fulda is being prepared for Hesse Day. That's why there are temporary new entrances to KAF and Dachgarten-Gastro in Karl.
Fulda – Despite ongoing renovation work in the Karl concept house, they remain “KAF im Karl” branch of the Fulda Children’s Academy and the roof garden restaurant “Karlchen vom Dach” is still accessible to visitors – but with a different route, as the city of Fulda announced.
Access to the Karl concept house changed for Hessentag conversion
Currently, several floors of the former Kerber department store prepared for the “Hessen Meeting Point” during the coming Hesse Day. However, visitors will have to accept changed routes due to the construction work. Access to the “KAF im Karl” with its colorful adventure world on the third floor is currently only via the former Kerber goods delivery yard from the direction of Lindenstrasse. From there the route via the stairwell or elevator is signposted.
According to the city, the roof terrace of the “Karlchen vom Dach” restaurant can also be reached via the same entrance. In addition, the entrances from Bahnhofstrasse 6 and Lindenstrasse 12 – directly next to the entrance to the city car park – are open to guests to visit the roof garden restaurant.
During the Hesse day The Fulda Children's Academy is expanding its opening hours in Karl: The branch will then be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., thus offering additional opening days. According to the city of Fulda, the roof garden gastronomy “Karlchen vom Dach” also starts daily from 10 a.m. during the event period.
