Motorcycle accident in Lower Franconia: child in mortal danger
As the Lower Franconia police headquarters reported, a 59-year-old man was traveling with a ten-year-old child as a passenger on the route between Zeitlofs and Trübenbrunn shortly before 2 p.m. when the driver apparently lost control of the motorcycle on a straight stretch. A blocked brake probably caused the vehicle to lurch and both of them fell at full speed.
The man and the child suffered serious injuries. According to police, they were flown to a hospital in two rescue helicopters.
An investigation into negligent bodily harm was initiated against the 59-year-old German. Whether technical defects were the cause of the accident is currently the subject of ongoing investigations. According to previous findings, the general inspection of the motorcycle had been going on for over ten years, as the police headquarters further reported.
A serious motorcycle accident involving a rescue helicopter recently occurred in the neighboring Main-Kinzig district. An overtaking maneuver near Brachttal ended in a head-on collision.
