For wine lovers there is a stand with organic own-brand wines and Prosecco. The Tegut Familienland in the Fulda-Aue is aimed at the youngest visitors with a bouncy castle, a juice bike for self-squeezing as well as waffles, ice cream and fresh fruit. The Herzberg organic bakery runs a stand at the regio'markt, while on the Pauluspromenade visitors to the cathedral square concerts are provided with fruit and smoothies.
Tegut and the Herzberger organic bakery have developed a regional specialty especially for the state festival: the Hessentags-Ploatz. In Fulda and the surrounding area, the term “Ploatz” or “Bloatz” traditionally refers to a sheet cake based on bread dough, which used to be prepared in savory or sweet versions on baking days.
“The Hesse day is a special event for Fulda. It quickly became clear to us: We wanted to contribute something that suits the city, the region and us,” explained Daniel Henkel, Purchasing Manager at Tegut. “The Ploatz is a Fulda specialty – and therefore exactly the right product to bring home to the plate.”
Christine Kappenberger, management of the Herzberger organic bakery, added: “For us, the Ploatz is a piece of baking culture that many people here know and love. Together with Tegut, we wanted to turn it into a Hessentag specialty that becomes a small but delicious symbol of what this festival is all about: community, regionality and a strong bite of home.”

With the Hessentag-Ploatz, Tegut and the Herzberger organic bakery take up the tradition and translate it into an organic-Ploatz to go developed especially for the state festival. The Ploatz is traditionally topped with bacon and caraway and costs 3 euros. From June 16th it will be available in Tegut markets in the baking station as well as at the Herzberger stand at the regio'markt and at the Tegut wine stand at the Hessentag.
A separate project group has been preparing the Hessentag commitment for around six months. During the ten days of the event, around 130 employees – primarily from the Fulda headquarters – will cover a total of 450 shifts with around 2,800 working hours. Tegut is supported by the catering partner Genuss Hoch Drei and the event partner Gerrit Events.
In addition, the company is taking part in the Hessentag parade with a self-designed motif car, a branded truck and a walking group. 50 VIP tickets for the Roland Kaiser concert and 100 tickets for Peter Maffay will be raffled off among visitors.
Those responsible for Tegut were present at the presentation of the Hessentag activities also the Hessentag couple Vera and Max Dudyka as well as the Hessentag representative for the city of Fulda, Dominik Höhl, were present.
