Großenlüder – On Sunday night, the control center in Fulda alerted the rescue workers at 12:14 a.m. due to an accident on the B254 federal highway near Großenlüder-Bimbach. A man from the Vogelsberg district For unknown reasons, his Fiat Panda veered off the road to the right.
The driver, who came from Fulda, was heading towards Lauterbach. Near the Bimbach exit, he apparently lost control of his vehicle and left the road. The car slid about 100 meters through the ditch on the federal highway and came to a stop after rolling over.

The fire department from Großenlüder-Bimbach was called to provide technical assistance in the accident on the B254. When the fire fighters arrived, the rescue service was already treating the injured 50-year-old driver, as Sebastian Krüger, platoon leader of the Bimbach volunteer fire department, said on site.
The Fiat Panda was a total loss; the vehicle was particularly badly damaged in the engine area. A towing service had to remove the small car. The police estimated the property damage at around 5,000 euros. The police from Fulda, the rescue service and the fire department were on site.

The fire fighters secured the area surrounding the accident site. In addition, the Bimbach fire department, which was on site with nine people, illuminated the accident area and cleaned the roadway on the federal highway. During the operation, the police directed traffic on the B254 past the accident site in a single lane.
Just a few days earlier, another accident occurred on the B254 near Großenlüder-Bimbach, in which a truck caused a flood of broken glass. A tractor-trailer loaded with waste glass got stuck on the B254 railway bridge, whereupon Deutsche Bahn checked the statics of the bridge.
