Motorhome collides with tractor-trailer almost unbraked
A father from Bavaria died when a mobile home collided with a truck at the end of a traffic jam on the A3. The 43-year-old motorhome driver died at the scene of the accident near Limburg in Central Hesseas the police in Wiesbaden announced. His wife and two children were taken to hospitals with serious injuries.

According to initial findings, the father had overlooked the traffic jam and drove into the tractor-trailer in the direction of Frankfurt, almost without braking. The 43-year-old, his 35-year-old wife and nine-year-old daughter were trapped in the front part of the vehicle and then freed by the fire department. The seven-year-old son, who was in the rear area, was able to free himself from the mobile home with serious injuries, it was said.

Rescue helicopters flew the wife and daughter to clinics; according to the police, their lives are not in danger. The son was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The A3 had to be temporarily completely closed in the south from the Diez junction. According to the police, the accident not far from Rhineland-Palatinate resulted in material damage to another car due to flying debris. In total it is estimated at around 40,000 euros.
