
Suddenly hail struck a 40-year-old woman on Friday morning. Her car hit a tree and ended up on its side.
Ehrenberg – A driver was lucky in an accident on Friday (May 15th). At around 10:50 a.m., the 40-year-old woman from Ehrenberg was traveling on federal highway 278 from Bischofsheim towards Wüstensachsen when the weather changed abruptly.
Sudden hailstorm leads to traffic accident in the Rhön
A sudden hailstorm caused the driver to lose control of her car. The car left the road to the right, crashed into a tree and overturned due to the force of the impact. The vehicle eventually came to rest on the passenger side.
According to the police, the 40-year-old was able to free herself from the wreckage. She escaped with minor injuries. However, there was significant damage to the car, which the officers at the Hilders police station estimated at around 10,000 euros.
The change in the weather on Friday also caused a problem in Schlüchtern for a major accident involving several vehicles on the A66. A total of five people were injured.
