Langenselbold – A physical argument between two teenage girls led to a wild fight between their families on Wednesday evening (May 20th). According to the police, the situation escalated completely around 9:40 p.m. in the Lindenplatz area when the two fathers, aged 37 and 44, rushed to help their daughters.
Teenage quarrel leads to fight between family men
Instead of mediating, the men attacked each other: According to the investigation, the 44-year-old hit the younger opponent so hard that he fell to the ground. As if that wasn't enough, the older man then threatened the man lying on the ground with a “weapon-like object,” according to the police.
The 37-year-old then fought back, tore a bar out of a nearby fence and swung it wildly through the air to fend off the attacker. Armed with the fence, he finally fled with his daughter and ran across several gardens towards Waldstrasse.
During the altercation, one of the girls and her father sustained minor injuries and required medical treatment. The alerted police were able to catch those involved on site.
Police are looking for witnesses after a dispute between families
The officials in Main-Kinzig district are now investigating mutual bodily harm and are asking witnesses who observed the incident to call (06181) 100123.
