
Snow in May caused an accident in Ehrenberg. A truck skidded off the road and crashed into a tree. Two men were injured.
Ehrenberg – Wintry conditions in the middle of May caused a traffic accident in Ehrenberg on Tuesday morning (May 12th). Two men were slightly injured, police said. At around 7:30 a.m., an Iveco truck came off the snow-covered road on federal highway 278 just before the town of Wüstensachsen. The van skidded on the downhill section there and crashed into a tree.

The 50-year-old driver from the Gotha district and his 52-year-old passenger from Erfurt suffered minor injuries in the impact. The truck was no longer drivable after the accident and had to be towed away. The police estimate the material damage caused at around 3,500 euros.
The winter service was in action. In the area of the B278 between Ehrenberg-Wüstensachsen and the Red Moor Several trucks were parked sideways on the long incline.
