The election of the 34th Beer Queen of Lauterbach brought the packed festival tent to a boil. Finally, Katharina Groß secured the crown. But the rewards market is far from over: there are more highlights waiting for visitors.
Lauterbach – The three applicants each brought their own fan clubs, which provided loud support with uniform T-shirts and flags. The Bimbach musicians heated up the audience with music that made them sway and sing along. The right to vote rested entirely with the audience: visitors were able to place their ballot in an urn shaped like a beer barrel beforehand and during the evening.
Lauterbach premium market elects the 34th beer queen
This year, three young women from the region were up for electionwho introduced themselves to the audience in detail. The new beer queen Katharina Groß from Lauterbach is 23 years old, studies medicine in Marburg and works as a paramedic for the German Red Cross. She also trains the TV Frischborn dance guard and appears on stage as a dancer herself. Her fellow campaigners were 20-year-old Alina Eckhardt from Schlitz, who is completing a dual course of study to become a midwife, and 18-year-old Jana-Tabea Seling from Dirlammen, who is about to graduate from high school. Both will support the new regent as beer princesses next year.
Before the actual decision was made, the outgoing ones said goodbye Beer queen Anne Saller and her princesses Lilli Sofie Eckhardt and Luisa Höhl with emotional words from her time in office. Saller thanked them for the great support and encouraged the new applicants: “When I see the candidates today, I have to say: We have three great girls at the start again this year. The many people here in the tent alone show how much support you have, and you can be really proud of that.”

The election has a long tradition in Lauterbach that goes back to 1987. Appropriately, presenter Manuel Hensler welcomed numerous former beer queens to the stage, who received flowers in recognition. Mayor Rainer-Hans Vollmöller (CDU) was also enthusiastic about the response: “I am particularly pleased that the tent is full, that shows me that the election of the beer queen is still a highlight as part of our Lauterbach premium market and we are very proud of that.”
The head of the town hall finally caused a surprise himself before the candidates' final question and answer session: Together with district administrator Jens Mischak (CDU) and other people, he created an acclaimed music lecture before Katharina Groß's election victory was announced.
In addition to choosing the beer queen The Lauterbach premium market still has a few highlights to offer in the next few days: On Friday (June 5th) the market invites you to have a morning drink. The fireworks display on the Bleiche on Saturday evening is likely to be another crowd puller. The event concludes on Sunday with a family day with an animal show. (Red)
