Attempted murder of his girlfriend“How I Met Your Mother” actor Nick Pasqual faces 32 years in prison

A California court has sentenced actor Nick Pasqual to 32 years to life in prison.
The “How I Met Your Mother” actor critically injured his girlfriend with more than 20 knife stabs in 2024.
Guilty of multiple counts
On Tuesday (June 2nd) the verdict was handed down in a court in San Fernando, California: Actor Nick Pasqual (36) was sentenced to 32 years to life in prison. Pasqual, who appeared, among other things, in an episode of the hit series “How I Met Your Mother”, critically injured his then partner, the make-up artist Allie Shehorn, with numerous knife stabs in 2024. This is reported by the Los Angeles Times, among others.
A jury had already found the 36-year-old guilty last month – including attempted murder, rape and burglary. In addition, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, there was a finding of serious bodily harm in the context of domestic violence, including with a knife. The allegations spanned a period from January to May 2024.

More than 20 stab wounds
Pasqual wants to appeal the verdict. He released a statement to Entertainment Weekly through his representatives saying he was “deeply saddened” by everything related to the case. He wishes everyone affected “healing and peace” and wants to focus on “sobriety, recovery, responsibility and a respectful appeal process” in the future.
According to investigators, Pasqual broke into Shehorn's home in the early morning of May 23, 2024 around 4:30 a.m. and stabbed her more than 20 times. He then fled and was arrested shortly afterwards at a border checkpoint in the US state of Texas.

A few days before the crime, Pasqual had been released from custody on $50,000 bail following an earlier incident. Shehorn had also recently applied for a restraining order against him and described sexual and physical assaults. Just last week, she also filed a civil lawsuit against Pasqual, alleging sexual assault, assault and negligence, among other things.

Barely survived
Shehorn survived the attack, seriously injured. A roommate found her and alerted the emergency services. The make-up artist had to undergo emergency surgery and spent several days in the intensive care unit. In the trial, she testified against her former partner with visible scars on her arms and neck.
Nick Pasqual and Allie Shehorn are said to have met on the set of the Zack Snyder film “Rebel Moon” in 2022, where he worked as an extra and she worked as a makeup artist. As an actor, Pasqual appeared in an episode of “How I Met Your Mother” in 2011; His other work includes smaller roles and a producer role on the web comedy series “National Day Riff”.
