
A bus driver was caught heavily intoxicated in Hanau in the Kinzigtal. His driving license was immediately confiscated. Now he faces further consequences.
Hanau – Securing a driver’s license can have immediate effects for professional drivers. A 57-year-old bus driver had this experience on Friday evening (April 24th) in Hanau Hesse. Police officers stopped him and revoked his driving license, as the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse announced.
Police pull drunk bus driver out of traffic in Kinzigtal
The reason for the intervention was that the driver was heavily intoxicated. “A breath alcohol test showed a value of 2.41 per mille. The starting point for police intervention was a message from a passenger who had previously smelled alcohol on him,” reported police spokesman Thomas Leipold.
A police patrol discovered the drunk bus driver shortly afterwards at the main train station. This not only led to the end of his shift, but also to a blood draw at the station. A criminal case was initiated on suspicion of drunk driving. He could also face employment law consequences.
