The woman, born in 1969, is said to have attempted to carry out a terrorist attack on behalf of Ukrainian secret services in the city of Pyatigorsk in the Stavropol region in the North Caucasus. According to the Interfax news agency, the FSB said the aim was to set up a facility for the Russian law enforcement authorities.

Russia suspects plans to attack security services

A bomb was discovered in the suspect's backpack and then defused. The FSB did not disclose any details. The woman was said to be near the law enforcement facility in Pyatigorsk.

In Russia, since the beginning of the war of aggression against Ukraine, there have been repeated assassinations, bombings and other attacks in which civilians or uniformed personnel were killed. The FSB also repeatedly reports allegedly prevented terrorist attacks and arrests of suspects who are accused of crimes on behalf of Ukrainian secret services.
