The Christ Church in Fulda invites you to feast gluten-free. A day of action full of enjoyment and exchange awaits visitors on April 30th in Fulda city center.
Fulda – On Thursday (April 30th), the Christ Church in downtown Fulda invites you to a special day of action as part of the “Living Churchyard” project. Under the motto “Celiac disease heaven on earth”, people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance can enjoy a carefree meal in the churchyard at Lindenstrasse 1 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Christ Church Community event, which is part of the “living church square” campaign, also offers the opportunity to talk, exchange information and network. Pastor Jana Koch‑Zeißig, who was affected herself, developed the idea spontaneously from a contact in the community.
Celiac disease heaven: Christ Church in Fulda invites you to a day of action
“Because the “living churchyard” is fundamentally open to activities and people, it is particularly fitting this time to specifically focus on a target group and at the same time create publicity for the disease and the associated restrictions in everyday life,” explains Pastor Jana Koch‑Zeißig.
The event is supported in terms of cuisine by Melek Güven with a gluten-free kebab truck, the Bonifatius ice cream parlor with gluten-free ice cream and bubble waffles, and the Lavender Fairytale Kitchen, which offers advice on gluten-free baking and baking mixes. The German Celiac Disease Society also provides information material.
At 3 p.m. there will be a discussion with those affected and Katharina Rossbach, the equal opportunities officer for the city of Fulda. The topic is gluten-free supplies in and around Fulda, and there will be an opportunity for questions and exchange. A bulletin board will be provided so that those affected can make contacts, share tips and support each other.
Admission to the event is free and registration is not required. The event will be held outdoors regardless of the weather. Meanwhile Pauline Bach opened her own café at the butter market in Fulda at the beginning of March. The café offers vegan and gluten-free options and is a special place for connoisseurs in the baroque city.
