Collaboration is very important in Leibolz or – better said – written on the town sign. Thanks to a campaign by trainees from a local company and the Leibolz local council, new signs have recently been visible at the entrances to the town.

Leibolz – Although every town has a yellow traffic sign that reveals the name of the village or town you are currently driving through, many towns have individual signs that particularly highlight the respective place. Some people may have already discovered it: Leibolz has now “individualized” itself at the entrances to the town.

As part of a training project run by the local plant and apparatus manufacturer Ebner, the trainees supported the local advisory board by independently planning and manufacturing two of the four required stainless steel frames. The employer provided the financial support.

In addition to Lara Möller, Francesca Bredy, Kacy Sawatzky and Marlon Sassmannshausen, the trainees Anastasia Wiegand and Dennis Vogt took part. Patrick Noll, head of engineering technology at Ebner, and Tassilo Weiße, who is responsible for training in construction, are proud of the performance of their hard-working apprentices.

The other two stainless steel frames and the four sign boards were manufactured and financed by the local advisory board and through private sponsorship from a local advisory board member. By joining forces, the local council finally took over the assembly and installation of the four signs at the end of last year. The result is impressive.

“Through this joint project, in which the trainees were able to contribute their ideas and commitment, the townscape was sustainably enhanced,” says the local advisory board. At the same time, the commitment of the young generation was promoted and cooperation between the regional economy and the local authority was strengthened – “an all-round successful initiative,” says local mayor Gertrud Mertens.

In the Meanwhile, the core town of Eiterfeld recently celebrated its spring market in beautiful weather – many tried their first ice cream of the year here.
