
A Range Rover burst into flames on the A66 near Langenselbold. Luckily no one was injured.
Langenselbold – The fire probably started in the engine compartment of the car, in the area of the Langenselbold triangle on the A66 the car suddenly burst into flames. However, the driver was probably able to pull over to the right and get out in time; according to the fire department, no one was injured. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon (March 30).

15 emergency services from the Langenselbold fire department quickly got the flames under control and were on duty for around an hour in total. For the duration of the extinguishing work, two of three lanes in the direction of Frankfurt had to be closed, which resulted in a backlog extending beyond the Langenselbold motorway junction.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are being determined by the motorway police, although the Langenselbold fire department says a technical defect is likely. For Meanwhile, a burning truck loaded with waste paper caused the A66 to be closed for hours.
