“Suspicious behavior from children”: There are disturbing reports circulating in the Vogelsberg district. The police are investigating and ask for prudence. Unverified information could endanger innocent people.

Homberg/Fulda – Reports are currently making the rounds in messenger groups that refer to an observation on Wednesday (March 4th) in Homberg (Ohm) in the Vogelsberg district. A police spokesman said: “The East Hesse police understand the concerns of parents and take reporting such matters very seriously.” “As soon as it became known, this was investigated.”

The investigators are currently checking the available information. So far, police investigations have revealed no evidence of a criminally relevant incident. “The exact background is part of the ongoing investigation,” said the police.

Addressing children: Police warn against unverified reports

The officers ask anyone who can provide information in this matter to contact the East Hesse Police Headquarters on (0661) 1050 or any other police station. Alternatively, you can register via the online watch at www.polizei.hessen.de report.

The police emphasize how important it is “that legal guardians talk to their children again and again about the most important rules of conduct. However, their East Hesse police would like to point out that through many conversations with the children, they are highly sensitized and, in individual cases, unsettled.”

The East Hesse police call on you: “React prudently if you suspect anything. Please contact the local police station or call the emergency number in urgent emergencies and do not spread information or photos of strangers, vehicles or license plates independently, unchecked and unfiltered.”

Police: Do not spread calls for witnesses without prior consultation

And further: “This can have devastating consequences for uninvolved people. Please do not spread any appeals for witnesses that have been drawn up independently or in consultation with the police!” The East Hesse police take relevant information from concerned citizens very seriously. She is sensitized to this.

Parents who would like to find out more about the topic of “talking to children” in general are welcome to send their questions to the Prevention Department of the East Hesse Police Headquarters by email praevention.ppoh@polizei.hessen.de the police spokesman said in conclusion.
