
For Hesse Day in Fulda, Deutsche Post has designed a special special stamp – a highlight for stamp fans and anyone who would like to consciously send mail again.
Fulda – Deutsche Post is celebrating its 63rd anniversary with a specially designed special stamp. Hesse day in Fulda for a special event for stamp lovers and everyone who would like to consciously send mail again. Between June 12th and 21st, visitors to the city palace can find out about the world of philately, according to the city of Fulda.
Post issues special stamps for Hesse Day in Fulda
The special stamp will therefore only be used during Hesse Day in Fulda. According to Deutsche Post, Fulda is continuing a long tradition: a special stamp was issued for the episcopal city on Hesse Day in 1990. This philatelic line is now being continued with the current motif.
“Hessentag brings people together and makes the diversity of our country visible. The special stamp is a nice way to preserve memories of this special festival and at the same time send a piece of Fulda to all parts of Germany,” says Mayor Dr. Heiko Wingenfeld. He also emphasizes that he is particularly pleased about the commitment of the Fuldensia association, which creates an interesting combination of tradition, history and lived club work with its offering.
The Association for Stamp Studies Fuldensia Fulda, which celebrated its 100th birthday last yearis present throughout Hessentag every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lower vestibule of the city palace – right next to the museum ticket office. There, guests can look forward to an exhibition with postcards from Fulda and insights into stamp and postal history that have been put together especially for Hessentag. As the association announces, a specially created special cover will also be offered.
Free Hessentag postcards in the city palace
Those interested can also receive free Hessentag postcards, label them individually and add a stamp available locally. All shipments are collected in a yellow “mailbox” in the city palace and then forwarded to the Weiden stamp office, where they receive the official Hessentag special stamp. The free postcards are only available while stocks last.
“The special stamp is a special souvenir for collectors. At the same time, we would like to show everyone who is interested how exciting and diverse the world of stamps can be,” explains Fuldensia spokesman Bernhard Schramm. We are looking forward to visitors of all ages – from experienced collectors to families and children who may be discovering the topic in a completely new way, continued Schramm.
