The Langgroup is starting the restructuring of its subsidiaries – under self-management. The district court in Fulda gave the green light for this. A merger could be the solution.

Fulda/Großenlüder – In mid-December 2025, Langgroup applied for protective shield proceedings for its subsidiaries Technolit, Iwetec and Lang Service. The company spoke of a realignment. The Fulda district court has now opened the proceedings and ordered self-administration.

Due to the court-ordered self-administration, the management of the three companies is still able to implement the reorganization measures on their own, as Langgroup announced upon request. According to the group, the renovation is going according to plan.

Langgroup restructuring is going according to plan – court gives the green light

The Fuldaer Zeitung had already reported in December 2025 that the three companies from Großenlüder and Fulda had filed for insolvency. The Fulda district court then gave the companies a deadline of March 15 to submit an insolvency plan.

A provisional administrator was also appointed. Unlike an insolvency administrator, whose job it is to manage and sell a company's assets to the satisfaction of creditors, an administrator only has a supervisory role.

At the time, Langgroup itself spoke of a “comprehensive realignment” of the business. To implement this realignment, Langgroup initiated a so-called protective shield procedure for the three companies. This is a judicial restructuring process.

Business operations of all group companies continue

The court had already agreed to this. This special procedure means that corporate responsibility remains with the management. “A protective shield procedure is only granted to companies that are not insolvent – i.e. not 'bankrupt',” Langgroup said at the time.

Even after the proceedings have been opened, the business operations of all group companies will continue to operate in full. “All orders are being processed as usual and delivered on time. Customers and suppliers have fully supported the restructuring process from the beginning. Accordingly, the business operations of the three companies continue to be stable,” explained the company.

This is due not least to the around 900 employees of the three companies who have supported the ongoing restructuring. With the opening of the proceedings, the three companies will again pay their employees' wages and salaries themselves. “Due to the stable business development, the payments are secured,” says Langgroup.

Which renovation route is the best possible solution?

“The renewed order of self-administration for the three companies is a clear sign of the court’s trust,” emphasizes Professor Dr. Lucas F. Flöther from the law firm Flöther & Wissing, who also represents the interests of the creditors in the proceedings that have been opened.

Together with the administrator and creditors, we are currently examining which restructuring option would be the best possible solution for each of the three companies. This also includes a merger of Iwetec, Technolit and Lang Service to form a new type of dealer and service provider.

According to Langgroup, Iwetec and Technolit have been working as workshop suppliers for various medium-sized key industries for many decades. Lang Service GmbH is the central management company of the group of companies. While Technolit and Lang Service are based in Großenlüder, the company Iwetec is based in Fulda.

German restructuring consultancy Wellensiek involved

During the restructuring process, Langgroup will be advised by the Frankfurt office of the German restructuring consultancy Wellensiek. “The management and shareholders acted responsibly and took the right measures at an early stage,” says Wellensiek consultant Florian Dausend.

“This gives us enough time to find the best possible solution to preserve the three companies.” Dausend and his Frankfurt colleague Friedrich Birnbreier support the management as general representatives for the duration of the restructuring process. In addition, Wellensiek senior partner Alfred Hagebusch is part of the advisory team.

It was only in mid-2025 that Langgroup reported economic problems to the Fuldaer Zeitung. In April 2025, a total of 41 positions were cut as part of an internal realignment. Technolit GmbH and LSG were affected. The company cited the persistently difficult overall economic situation in Germany and significantly increased wage costs as reasons.
