
In December 2025, the train station district in Fulda was included in an urban development funding program by the state of Hesse. Now the city is inviting people to its first citizens’ meeting.
Fulda – The train station district in Fulda is a special place, the city announced in a press release: city entrance to the city center, mobility and transit space, consumer mile, place of residence and lived-in neighborhood.
Since December 2025 the area is part of the urban development funding program “Growth and Sustainable Renewal”. In order to make the area around the train station fit for the future, the city of Fulda is now starting the participation process for the integrated urban development concept (ISEK) with an interdisciplinary planning team made up of city planners and mobility experts.
City of Fulda starts plans for the development of the train station district
The city invites everyone interested to the auditorium of the Adolf von Dalberg School (Old University) on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The aim is to identify important issues and challenges for the future development of the district around the train station. Guidelines and measures should then be developed in order to combine them into a sustainable concept.
Citizens are invited to take part in this process and contribute their ideas. According to the city announcement, at the event the planning team will provide information about the upcoming process as well as the next steps and opportunities for participation. Participants could also express their knowledge and opinions on important urban development issues, which will be included in further work.
