There is a danger to the life of the infant!
A mother and her infant disappeared from a Duisburg hospital on the night of Tuesday (May 19th). The police received the missing person report at around 2 a.m., and a large-scale operation was launched shortly afterwards. Emergency services searched the clinic and the surrounding area – so far without success.
According to initial findings, the baby's absence was noticed in the middle of the night at the Helios Clinic in Duisburg. The hospital then immediately alerted the police.
Numerous patrol cars and criminal police were deployed to find clues to the whereabouts of the mother and child. A sniffer dog was also used to pick up possible traces. The investigation took place not only in the area of the hospital, but also at the woman's home address. Officials secured traces and evaluated initial clues until the early hours of the morning.
According to police, the six-month-old boy was at the children's hospital for treatment. The mother then disappeared without consulting the baby, and the infant's medical care has not yet been completed. “The well-being of the child has top priority. We are talking about danger to life here, so life, limb and health are massively at risk,” says police spokeswoman Julia Tekock in an interview with RTL.
“The operation on site has now been completed,” says Tekock. “Now it’s about taking measures to ward off dangers.” (lmi)
