
A VW Golf crashed into a fence and a bus stop in Grebenhain. Three teenagers were injured – one seriously. The driver fled on foot.
Grebenhain – A serious traffic accident occurred on Thursday night (May 14th) in the Vogelsberg district. Three young people were injured, at least one of them seriously. The driver of the accident vehicle fled the scene on foot.
At around 2:15 a.m., a VW Golf left the road on Grebenhainer Strasse in the Vaitshain district for unknown reasons. The vehicle was traveling towards Nösberts-Weidmoos when it first collided with a property fence and then crashed into a bus stop.
Three teenagers injured in accident – driver flees on foot
There were four people in the car. These are two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old teenager from the communities of Neuhof and Steinau an der Straße. After the accident, rescue workers took the young people to various hospitals for further medical care.
The driver of the VW Golf left the scene on foot after the accident. Investigations into the person's identity are currently ongoing.

The car was so badly damaged in the accident that the police assume it was a total economic loss. The vehicle was no longer drivable. Officials estimate the total damage to the car, fence and bus stop at around 70,000 euros.
The Lauterbach police station asks witnesses who can provide information about the accident or the fleeing driver to call (06641) 9710.
Meanwhile, in Fulda, a 27-year-old fled from a police checkpoint. His trip ended with an arrest after an accident in the countryside.
