Family double whammy on Bornholm: Anna and Lisa Hahner took part in the Hammertrail on the Danish island – and both achieved a win each.

Bornholm/Fulda – Five days of nature, family time and trail running on one of the most beautiful islands in Denmark: For Anna and Lisa Hahner, their stay on Bornholm was a very special experience. Both celebrated strong successes last weekend at the traditional Hammer Trail Jump 2026.

Hahner Twins experience special competition

Anna won the women's 52-kilometer distance (2460HM) and even came second overall among all participants, while Lisa won the 26-kilometer race in her first real trail running experience. The Hammertrail is considered one of the most beautiful and at the same time most demanding trail races in Denmark.

The route leads through the impressive landscape in the north of Bornholm, past steep rocky coasts, dense forests, small fishing villages and narrow trails along the Baltic Sea. The technically demanding downhills and the many short, steep climbs in particular challenge even experienced runners.

For Mother of two Anna Hahner The race consisted of two laps of 26 kilometers each. Particularly unusual: After the first lap, she took a short break to breastfeed her daughter Pauline before getting back on the track. “It was a very special day,” says Anna. “I felt incredibly strong. I had a lot of power, especially uphill.”

“Downhill there was this beautiful flow where everything just came together,” she added. The fact that such a competition is currently possible was only possible through teamwork. During the race, Anna was supported by her husband and Lisa, who looked after the children.

The island of Bornholm will be remembered by Hahner-Twins

They also looked after her at the aid points and looked after her. “Without this support, a race like this would be unthinkable at the moment.” Lisa also looks back enthusiastically on the weekend. She gained her first more intensive trail experiences on Bornholm and immediately won the 26-kilometer distance.

In addition to the sporting successes, it is the island itself that will be remembered most. Bornholm, often called the “Sun Island” of Denmark, impresses with a mixture of rough nature, Scandinavian serenity and an exceptionally diverse landscape. “Bornholm totally impressed us,” summarize Anna and Lisa. “We’ll definitely be back.”
