The consequences fall on her of all people
The reaction from Instagram now makes her completely angry. Instead of consistently checking the reported account and blocking it if necessary, Cheyenne herself was warned. Your profile was additionally restricted – with consequences for your reach and therefore also for your collaborations with brands. Going to the police – and a signal to other women
Cheyenne doesn't just stop at angry stories. She explains that she has now reported the man to the police. She had already emphasized in the past that she consistently displays dick pics – a step she is now taking again. In doing so, she not only wants to protect herself, but also other women who could be targeted by the same sender or similar perpetrators.
Video tip: Sexual violence online
Her case is an example of how complicated the fight against sexual harassment online is: dick pics can now be prosecuted under criminal law in many cases, and at the same time platform algorithms often react more harshly to “naming and shaming” than to the original attacks. Cheyenne Ochsenknecht is now using her reach to talk about exactly this – and makes it clear that she is not prepared to simply accept this form of digital violence. (ros)
