Concern for TV icon Thomas Gottschalk!
The entertainer is postponing his planned comeback for health reasons: “I won’t be appearing on stage in public until autumn,” said the 75-year-old entertainer, according to Spiegel magazine. Gottschalk made his cancer public at the end of last year.
Comeback moderation was planned for next week – now the cancellation
Next week, the showmaster wanted to moderate the “Golden Ochsensepp” award ceremony in Munich, which commemorates the resistance fighter and CSU co-founder Josef Müller. It would have been the first public appearance since Gottschalk made his cancer public at the end of November. Former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz was to receive the award.
Now Gottschalk has canceled. “I won't be appearing on stage publicly before autumn, neither for Kurz nor for anyone else! Then let's see what your health is doing“, writes the 75-year-old in an email to Spiegel upon request
Holm Dressler, artistic director of the awards ceremony, said: “We have postponed the event until September and are continuing to plan with Thomas as his health permits.” As a ZDF editor in the 1980s, Dressler had the Gottschalk shows “Na sowas” and “Wetten,dass..?” cared for.
Reading tip: It was only at the beginning of April that Gottschalk encouraged his fans with a photo
The short notice of Gottschalk's cancellation can be seen on the event's homepage. The event at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof was advertised there until Wednesday morning with Gottschalk and the date May 9th.
The “Golden Ochsensepp” will be awarded for the first time this year. The prize is awarded by the International Circle of Friends for Christian Social Politics (IFCSP), which sees itself as an “association of Christian-conservative people, institutions and companies”.
