At 205 km/h on the federal highway, red light violations in the wedding procession, loud poser rides in the evening: the specialized police patrol “Tuners, Speeders and Posers” discovered a number of violations during a check around Hanau.

Hanau – According to the police, the checks carried out by the special unit are aimed at precisely those behaviors that endanger road safety and repeatedly lead to complaints from the population.

At around 2:50 p.m. on Sunday (April 26th), officials in Hanau registered a Turkish wedding parade on Eugen-Kaiser-Straße. Using video recordings from the tracking system, they documented how two participants in the car parade drove through a red light.

The driver of a VW Polo was lucky. He passed the traffic lights when it had been less than a second since the light turned red. He has to pay a fine of 90 euros. However, the Audi A6 driving behind him broke the second mark and the driver will be fined 200 euros and have his driving license revoked for one month.

At around 5 p.m., the traffic specialists in Ronneburg noticed a VW Beetle, about which citizens had previously complained several times because of its increased noise and conspicuous driving style. The 18-year-old driver and owner reported to the patrol that there was a defect in the flex pipe of the exhaust system, which was confirmed on site. The officials also discovered further technical deficiencies. The police seized the license plates, the vehicle was put in a garage and further driving was prohibited. The 18-year-old has to pay a fine of 100 euros.

At around 8 p.m., the patrol on the B448 stopped a BMW M4 Competition that was racing along the federal highway at up to 2,025 kilometers per hour – significantly more than permitted. According to the police, the 24-year-old driver will now face a fine of at least 600 euros, two points in Flensburg and a two-month driving ban.

Drifter runs laps with squealing tires and without a driver's license

Just half an hour later, the officers noticed a Ford Focus in the Kinzigbogen area in Hanau that was doing laps in a parking lot at high speed, accelerating sharply several times and causing the tires to squeak. He almost collided with another parked vehicle. When the 29-year-old driver finally stopped his car next to a group of six people, the police checked him.

It turned out that the man did not have a driver's license and had also consumed cannabis. There was also an arrest warrant and an enforcement order in the amount of 2,100 euros against him. The drifter first had to have a blood sample taken and then pay the fine. An acquaintance from the group present let the 29-year-old get behind the wheel of his car. Proceedings were therefore initiated against him on suspicion of driving without a license.

The police traditionally keep an eye on tuners and posers shortly before Easter on so-called Car Friday.
