Finally there is clarity!
Two decades ago, her body was found in garbage bags in a rain barrel in France. But the woman's identity was a mystery to authorities – until now.
Mysterious murder
More than twenty years after her violent death, a victim has been identified in France and a suspect has been arrested. This was announced by the world's largest police organization Interpol, which helped solve the case.
The woman was found mutilated in a rainwater barrel in Saint-Quirin at the beginning of 2005, a few dozen kilometers from the German border. Her body had been packed in garbage bags and tied with rope.

Suspect in custody
The woman's identity remained unknown for more than two decades. Interpol included the case in its “Identify Me” campaign, which is publicly seeking information about more than 40 unidentified women's bodies in Europe.
The woman's identity has now been clarified and a suspect has been arrested for the first time since the start of the campaign on long-ago femicides, in which Germany is also involved.
