So far, questions have primarily surrounded Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Now, however, her husband Haakon also finds himself in the twilight. The reason for this is an old photo.
A rediscovered archive photo brings new momentum to the affair surrounding the Epstein scandal in the Norwegian royal family. In the recording published by the Norwegian newspaper “Se og Hør”, Crown Prince Haakon can be seen at a party in Paris with Boris Nikolic – a long-time confidant of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in custody in 2019.
It was previously assumed that Haakon appeared on the fringes of the Epstein network primarily through his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Nikolic is said to have once introduced her to Epstein. However, according to “Se og Hør”, the photo that has now been published suggests that there could also have been an independent acquaintance between the heir to the throne and Nikolic.
Haakon's name is also said to appear in investigation documents relating to the Epstein complex. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, among others, it is about an email from Nikolic from 2012, which mentions a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. “I like Haakon very much! We met Mick Jagger,” Nikolic is said to have written in it.
The Crown Prince is allegedly mentioned once again in the context of an operation on his wife. In November 2013, Mette-Marit underwent surgery for a herniated disc in her neck. In this context, Nikolic is said to have informed Epstein: “I'll keep you updated. I talk to Haakon all the time, he will be with her during the operation.”
There has so far been no statement from the Norwegian royal family on the reports.
