
The Schlüchtern police checked more than 200 vehicles within a week and identified 135 administrative offenses.
Schlüchtern – With the annual Road Safety Week, the Schlüchtern police station would like to further increase the safety of all road users. From April 12th to 16th, the officers therefore intensified their scrutiny of road users and their vehicles.
135 violations during traffic controls in and around Schlüchtern
At several checkpoints in and around Schlüchtern, law enforcement officers checked more than 200 vehicles and almost 300 people. The balance sheet: 135 administrative offense proceedings for various traffic violations. According to the police report, three cases of suspected driving under the influence of intoxicants were particularly serious. The officers also filed a criminal complaint on suspicion of driving without a license.
As part of the Europe-wide “Roadpol Speed” action week the police carried out additional speed measurements on Tuesday (April 14) and Thursday (April 16). A road user was measured at 57 km/h in a 30 zone. Further controls are to follow in the future.
Officers from the Schlüchtern police station had already carried out speed checks on state road 3196 between Steinau and Marjoß on Sunday afternoon (April 19). The focus was on two-wheeler riders, as they are The route is a known dangerous route on which accidents occur again and again.
April weather ensures calm traffic control
However, the changeable weather resulted in a low volume of traffic. Only four motorcyclists rode the route between 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. – when the weather conditions are good, there are usually significantly more bikers on the road at this time of year. Pleasing for the officers: All four adhered to the maximum speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour. The prevention discussions were received consistently positively by the motorcyclists.
A total of 22 vehicles were measured, twelve of which were stopped and checked along with 14 people. Two car drivers slightly exceeded the speed limit, but showed their understanding and paid the fine on the spot. The officers also discovered four violations of the seat belt requirement, which were also immediately punished.
