Drivers in Hünfelder Land will soon have to prepare for two closures. Both last until late summer.
Hünfeld/Eiterfeld – In Hünfeld, from Monday (April 20th), Großenbacher Straße will be closed in sections in the area between the indoor swimming pool car park and Wallweg until probably the end of August. The supply and disposal lines are being replaced there. This is reported by the city's public order office.
Roads in Hünfeld and Eiterfeld closed for months
The diversion is signposted. Pedestrians are guided by signage along Wallweg and Klosterstrasse towards the center. Furthermore, the one-way street regulation on Klosterstrasse has currently been lifted. Access is possible from Klosterstrasse via Wallweg to Mozartweg and vice versa.
Hessen Mobil will also be renovating district road 154 on behalf of the Fulda district by mid-August. The roadway will be renewed between the two Eiterfeld towns of Mengers and Wölf. The measure starts – as in Hünfeld – on Monday (April 20th). The work on the approximately 2.3 kilometer long route is taking place under complete closure for the safety of workers and road users. The diversion takes place in both directions via Reckrod and is signposted.
In Wölf, half of the elevated road will be closed in the area where it intersects with the K154. Traffic is controlled by traffic lights. Access to Paul-Tosse-Straße is not possible. In Mengers, access to Dorfstrasse is closed. Residents have access to the construction site. The market town is using the measure for work on the canal and drinking water pipes. The old asphalt surface is milled away, a new frost protection layer is installed and the new roadway is made from a base and a top layer of asphalt.
Meanwhile, in the fall of last year Rasdorfer Straße and Bahnhofstraße in Eiterfeld have been reopened after months of work.
