The first week after the Easter holidays gets off to a mixed start in Hesse. It can always rain. But: From the middle of the week things will start to look up again.
Fulda/Offenbach – The weather in Hesse was changeable on White Sunday. And at the start of the new week, the meteorologists from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach are expecting rain again and again.
On Monday (April 13th) it will often be cloudy, with occasional rain or showers. The maximum temperatures in Hesse are between 12 and 15 degrees, at high altitudes around 9 degrees. There will also be weak to moderate winds blowing around the northeast. “The cold front of the low near Scotland is currently over the south and east of Germany – and its band of rain will continue to accompany us into the beginning of the week,” explained DWD meteorologist Thorsten Kaluza on Sunday.
Scotland low causes rain to start the week in Hesse
On the night of Tuesday (April 14th) there may still be occasional rain or a few showers in Hesse. The lows fall to 8 and 5 degrees, at high altitudes they are around 4 degrees. At least night frost is not an issue. During the day there will initially be a lot of clouds, with occasional rain falling. As the day progresses, however, there is greater relaxation in Hesse. Temperatures reach highs of 16 degrees.
The ray of hope: From the middle of the week things will start to look up again. Wednesday (April 15th) – after a night with the risk of ground frost – it will be 18 degrees again in Hesse. Rain is not expected. “The influence of high pressure will be noticeable on Wednesday, it will remain dry across the board, and the sun will often shine in the west,” announces DWD expert Kaluza. In parts of Germany the mercury reaches the 20 degree mark. “The following days will not be trouble-free due to low foothills, especially in the north, but overall the second half of the week will be characterized by friendly, mild and dry weather,” according to the DWD forecast.
