Vogelsberg – Some people who live on the B254 in Wartenberg or Lauterbach suffer from the stress of through traffic – noise, exhaust fumes, vibrations, risk of accidents. The “Relief Now!” alliance wants to hold an information and discussion event on Friday, April 24th and has invited an expert. The geographer Wulf Hahn, co-owner of a specialist agency for traffic and environmental management, will give a presentation starting at 7 p.m. in the Zeppe clubhouse, Am Wörth 8 in Angersbach, comparing the situation in Wartenberg with other municipalities and classifying statements and opinions. The aim of the event is a list of demands to reduce the burden on residents of the B254.
In October 2025, a report from the Hessenschau also had the discussion about the planned Lauterbach – Wartenberg bypass was reignited. Accordingly, the state of Hesse is said to lack money for 28 road construction projects – including the B254.
