The Pier 36 team celebrated the start of the second season. The business at the Aueweiher in Fulda is now open again – with a few new features.
Fulda – The start of the season took place on Wednesday in bright sunshine with around 100 guests Gastronomy Pier 36, which opened last year at the Fuldaer Aueweiherinstead of. Carolin Zuspann and her husband Hans Schmalenberg as well as Kathrin Zuspann were visibly happy about their visitors.
In her speech, Carolin Zuspann emphasized: “Today, all of our loved ones are there. We wanted to have the people around us who have had our backs over the past twelve months.” They are particularly proud of their team. 34 mini-jobbers and the permanent staff from last year support the Zuspann family. “Our team is a dream,” Carolin Zuspann called out to the guests.
Pier 36 at the Fuldaer Aueweiher is now open again
“In the past few weeks we have been scrubbing, working and building day and night so that nothing stands in the way of a 'great season'.” With a laugh, Carolin finally commented on Elmar Zuspann's absence: “Our boss is currently in Namibia and is on vacation because he previously traveled across the Atlantic on the ship as Smutje for six weeks.”
Zuspann also discussed the innovations. The power supply in the location is now guaranteed. This made it possible to create cooling options and expand the range of dishes. A vintage food truck owned by the Matthias Walter family offers burgers made from Wagyu cattle. These are now bred in the region. Matthias Walter emphasizes: “We have around 60 cattle and are looking forward to working together.”
But that's not all: a toilet truck has also been added. All in all, the investments amount to 150,000 euros, emphasizes Carolin Zuspann and says: “Our contract runs until the end of October, after that we’ll see what happens.”
Among the guests were suppliers, partners and friends such as the Reinholz coffee roasting company, the Deisenroth car dealership, the Landgasthof Zur Linde from Bimbach and Drinks Heurich, to name just a few. Among them was the Petersberg doctor Ralph-Michael Hönscher. He was enthusiastic: “It’s a gem on the Aueweiher, with attention to detail.”
Pier 36 is open from April to the end of May from Thursday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from June also from Thursday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
