After several emergency calls about armed people, police arrested two drunk men. During a subsequent search they found what they were looking for.
Maintal – moment of shock on Wednesday evening (April 1st) in the Kennedystrasse area: At around 8:45 p.m. the police received several emergency calls. Witnesses reported two people walking through the street with weapons. According to the press release, the police immediately launched a manhunt.

Thanks to the detailed descriptions of the people, the officers were able to locate two 30-year-old men near an arcade shortly afterwards. Although the two had no weapons with them at the time, they were “clearly intoxicated,” according to the police report. The officers temporarily arrested the duo and took them to the station.
The investigation eventually led the officers to search the apartment. There they found what they were looking for: they seized an air rifle and a cutting weapon. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the two men on suspicion of violating the weapons law.
