For a long time it was assumed that the man's pleasure center was located in the prostate. Therefore, it was also considered the male counterpart female G-spot. But the team led by Alfonso Cepeda-Emiliani from the University of Santiago de Compostela has now refuted this assumption.
In a study published in the journal Andrology, scientists discovered that the “sensory center in the penis” is actually right there – in the penis! More precisely, in the so-called frenulum delta. Here one could detect “region-specific neuronal distributions with increased density”. This means that there are a particularly large number of nerve endings here, which make the frenulum delta particularly sensitive.

But what is this frenulum delta actually and where exactly is it located? “Frenulum” (Latin for ribbon) describes a fold of tissue, “Delta” is the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, which is represented by a triangle. The frenulum delta is a triangular area on the frenum of the foreskin (below the edge of the glans).

For their study, the scientists examined the penises of 30 fetuses and 14 adult cadavers. The study highlights “the frenulum delta as a specialized center of sexual sensation” in men, they summarize the results. The study also highlights “persistent research gaps in sexual medicine and urology,” the scientists write. After all, the female G-spot “has sparked controversy for decades (…) while the penile erogenous center – whose structure and sensation are so clearly recognizable – has remained largely ignored in the scientific literature”.
