“Why do they all hate me?”New DSDS juror Isi Glück unpacks! “I ended up in a bad shark tank”
Her path to the top was anything but easy.
She is the new juror for “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” and has long been a star at Ballermann: Isi Glück. But her career path was definitely not easy. She struggled a lot. Especially at the beginning. In her new RTL+ documentary, the pop singer now speaks openly about bullying, manipulation – and a wave of hate that made her doubt herself. A first excerpt from the documentary can already be seen in the video above.
For Isi Glück, the Ballermann wasn't just party and joy
Today Isi Glück is the celebrated party queen on Mallorca – but her Ballermann beginning was tough. So hard that she had serious doubts about herself. She kept asking herself questions like: “Why do they all hate me?”

But why did she ask herself such questions? Isi Glück now explains this to us in her RTL+ documentary. In it she describes how difficult it was for her to get into the scene. “There is one person in the scene who put all his energy into blocking me everywhere as best he could from day one.” The consequences: performances were sabotaged and songs weren't played. “The DJs didn’t play my songs.” And there was also said to be massive pressure behind the scenes: “Colleague artists were also given a bit of a choice: either you’re cool with her or you’re cool with me.”
Between the stage and the shark tank: THIS is what it really was like for Isi Glück

Particularly shocking: an appearance that Isi Glück cannot forget to this day. “Then I went on stage and did my performance and immediately there were noises. I was a newcomer and it was straight away 'mek', 'mek', a lot of whistling and beeping and the whole audience booed me.” Only later did it become clear what had happened: “Until we checked that there was a second microphone on the floor, which had been switched on (…) And then I turned around and saw that all these friends were filming it.” It's clear to her: “Then you can say that I definitely ended up in a bad shark tank at the beginning.”

Despite everything, she prevailed – and now wants to tell her story: “I think that if we have the time to talk about it in detail in this documentary, then I'll take the time and think it's very important to tell what it really was like.”
