Rioters raged on a sports grounds in Hünfeld and caused extensive damage. The police are asking for information from the public.
Hünfeld – The unknown perpetrators rioted on the sports grounds on Jahnstrasse in Hünfeld early on Thursday morning (April 2) around 2:15 a.m., the police said.
Vandalism in Hünfeld: 5,000 euros in damage to the sports grounds
In the grandstand area, they tore paving stones out of the ground and threw them onto the concrete seating areas, which were damaged in the process. The unknown persons also set off fireworks on the artificial turf pitch and drove onto the field on a motorized two-wheeler. According to the police, the total damage caused amounts to around 5,000 euros.
The Hünfeld police station asks witnesses who can provide information about the incident or suspicious people to call (06652) 965810. Information can also be submitted to any other police station or via the Hessian police online watchdog.
This incident is not the only one recently: just recently Significantly greater material damage occurred in Hanau when unknown persons damaged several vehicles on the premises of a car dealership.
