Knife attacks on four Germans in Bulgaria's capital Sofia

Three women and a man from Germany were attacked and stabbed in two incidents in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. According to official information, there are no fatalities. The police are looking for a suspected perpetrator whose identity is unknown. It is suspected that she carried out both attacks.

First, on Thursday evening (March 26), a German woman and a man between the ages of 60 and 65 were stabbed at a subway station in the center of Sofia. Shortly after the first incident, according to official information, two German women aged 26 and 30 were also stabbed in the city center.

The motive for the knife attacks was initially unknown. It was also not clear whether the attacks were related to the nationality of the victims. Germany traditionally has a good image in Bulgaria.
