The MVZ Eichhof is expanding its offering. A new proctological consultation closes gaps in care. The most modern methods promise gentle treatments.

Lauterbach – This will be expanded from February Medical care center (MVZ) Eichhof in Lauterbach, whose managing director is Thomas Faustits medical offering. Walid Alharithi, who works as senior physician at Eichhof Hospital and is a specialist in general and visceral surgery with an additional qualification in proctology, is taking over the management of a specialized proctological consultation. This was announced by MVZ Eichhof gGmbH.

The proctology consultation hours are offered on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments can be made by telephone, email or online without the need for a referral from your family doctor. “We have received KV approval for proctological consultations and are allowed to provide statutory health insurance specialist services,” explains Jochen Wiegand, head of general and visceral surgery.

The loss of a specialist practice in Grebenhain created a gap in care, which is now being closed by the new consultation hours. This is particularly a relief for those with statutory health insurance. For managing director Thomas Faust, the restructuring represents a significant step in regional healthcare.

The advantage lies in the close connection between outpatient and inpatient areas. Patients benefit from having the same contact person throughout and the relationship of trust remains from the first conversation until the end of the therapy. “Trust is particularly important in proctology, as people are reluctant to talk to doctors out of shame,” emphasizes Walid Alharithi.

“Many patients arrive late, even though modern therapies are now very gentle and effective.” In his new consultation, Walid Alharithi focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the rectum, anus and rectum. He relies on modern procedures, such as innovative laser therapy, which often enables tissue-friendly treatment with less pain and accelerates the healing process.

“We are technically able to often work in a minimally invasive manner. This reduces the wound areas and gets patients back to their usual daily routine more quickly,” explains the doctor. In addition to his specialization in proctology, Walid Alharithi has extensive experience in visceral surgery. These include procedures on the stomach, intestines and liver, which are carried out both minimally invasively and classically surgically.

Another focus of his work is the treatment of colon cancer. He accompanies his patients individually, from early diagnosis to surgical therapy and structured follow-up care. Despite technical innovations, the focus for him is on people. “Successful treatment not only depends on the surgical technique, but also on good information and a trusting conversation,” explains the specialist.

He consciously takes time for his patients' questions and concerns in order to create an atmosphere in which they feel that they are in good hands. The new proctological consultation at the MVZ Eichhof in Lauterbach creates “a modern care offering that combines surgical expertise, innovative technology and personal care and closes an important gap in regional specialist care.”
