
A fire in Heringen in East Hesse leaves an uninhabitable house behind. Two residents were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
Heringen – On the night of Tuesday (March 10th), a fire broke out in a single-family home in Wölfershausen, a district of Heringen (Werra) in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district. According to the East Hesse police headquarters, the fire was reported around 11:30 p.m.

“Both residents suffered smoke intoxication,” reported a police spokesman. The emergency services took the injured to the hospital. The material damage amounts to at least 80,000 euros. The house is now uninhabitable.
Due to the consequences of the fire, the fire department was unable to provide any precise information as to how the fire could have started. All that was determined was that the fire started in the kitchen on the ground floor.
The fire department was on site with a large contingent. The fire brigades from Wölfershausen and the surrounding communities were deployed, so that the fire fighters quickly got the fire under control. Further investigations into the cause of the fire will continue on Tuesday.
A few days earlier, meanwhile A devastating fire in Neuberg in the Main-Kinzig district left a building in danger of collapsing. There was probably damage of up to half a million euros in the meat wholesale trade and kebab production.
