
A 21-year-old attacked and injured two police officers in Hanau. The police eventually subdued the man with a Taser.
Hanau – A young man is said to have injured two police officers and also attacked rescue workers on Frankfurter Landstrasse in Hanau early on Sunday morning (March 1st). The incident occurred around 5:10 a.m., police said.
The patrol had been called to an argument in which the man apparently became violent towards his partner and her brother under the influence of alcohol. When the officers arrived, those involved had already separated.

According to police, the 21-year-old was under a nearby underpass. When the officers wanted to determine his identity, he is said to have suddenly hit a police officer. When another officer tried to intervene, the man is said to have hit him in the temple with his elbow.
According to police, only the use of a Taser led to the angry man being overpowered and arrested. The officer suffered a minor injury to her leg and her colleague suffered a head injury. A breath alcohol test showed the Hanau resident had a blood alcohol level of 1.75 per mille. During the subsequent medical treatment, he also kicked in the direction of the paramedics, according to the police.
The police are now investigating suspicions of bodily harm and physical assault. Witnesses are asked to contact the Hanau police station on (06181) 100120.
Just a few days earlier, a driver drove towards police officers in Steinau. An officer then used his service weapon.
