This will make the travelers happy!
Deutsche Bahn wants to meet the federal government's demand for cleaner trains and more reliable on-board catering in long-distance transport, especially with more staff. Toilets and carpets on trains will be cleaned more frequently in the future, the railway announced. In addition, the coffee machines and toilets should be serviced more frequently.
“Passengers will notice: Something is happening”
Together with Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder (CDU), the railway presented its immediate program for more comfort in long-distance transport. More cleaning staff should travel in the future, especially on busy routes. “Special cleaning teams” will also be available at some “junction stations” in the future. The carpets in the trains should also be specially cleaned more frequently.

So that food and drinks are more reliably available in the on-board bistros and restaurants, the railway wants to “optimize” the logistics processes. The availability of coffee in particular should be ensured by “mobile maintenance units” that service vulnerable components in the coffee machines.
“These specialists are on call at four junction stations – in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin,” explained the railway. “In addition to repairs in the on-board bistro, they also ensure that damage in the train toilets is repaired quickly and effectively.”
“Passengers will notice that something is happening on the long-distance trains,” promised DB long-distance transport boss Michael Peterson. The measures therefore cost around 20 million euros.

Transport Minister Schnieder called for the immediate program as part of his strategy for the railway when he introduced the new railway boss Evelyn Palla in September. The DB should therefore present two further immediate programs. In January, she launched her plan for more safety and cleanliness at train stations. An immediate program for better customer communication will now follow. (afp)
