After the concert summer took place in Nieder-Moos for the first time last year under the direction of the Freiensteinau community, another season will soon start in cooperation with the larger community. Six concerts are offered.
Vogelsberg – The 46th edition of the Nieder-Mooser Concert Summer is under the musical direction of Alexander Eifler and his employees and helpers, who are full of anticipation and are inviting all music lovers to the new season.
Nieder-Mooser Concert Summer: This is the program
In August 1791, the organ builder Johannes-Markus Oestreich from Oberbimbach proudly handed over his largest organ work to date to the Protestant parish of the small Vogelsberg town of Nieder-Moos am See. Of course, he could not have imagined that his large organ in Nieder-Moos would one day be the focus of a concert series that was known beyond the region.
For 46 years now, the church in Nieder-Moos has been a summer attraction for music lovers from all over Hesse. A total of six concerts will take place here from July 5th to September 13th.

The duo Frederic Belli (trombone) and Martin Schmeding (organ) will perform at the opening concert on Sunday, July 5th at 5 p.m. and offer inspiring musical dialogues with works by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Friedrich Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Chr. Wagenseil and others. Frederic Belli is solo trombonist of the SWR Symphony Orchestra and is one of the most internationally profiled trombonists of his generation. Echo prize winner Martin Schmeding is an internationally sought-after concert organist, has received many awards and is a professor of organ at the Leipzig University of Music and Theater, where he also directs the “European Organ Academy”.
On Sunday, July 19th, the “Regensburger Domspatzen”, founded in 975, will sing from 4 p.m. On the day of the FIFA World Cup final, the concert date was scheduled so early so that everyone can get excited at home in time in front of their screens.
On Saturday, July 25th, solo hornist Felix Klieser from Hamburg will play from 7 p.m. He has been playing the horn for 29 years – something not every 31-year-old can say – and he does so without arms. As a four-year-old, Felix Klieser announced to his parents out of nowhere: “I want a horn!” Felix has the worst qualifications imaginable for this instrument: he was born without arms. But Felix takes lessons and practices like a man possessed. And he is successful. “The horn is one of the most versatile instruments in terms of color and can be used to wonderfully arouse emotions,” enthuses the young man about his Model 103 from the Alexander brothers’ instrument factory in Mainz.
He is accompanied by Franziska Hölscher (violin), Wen-Xio Zheng (viola), Andrei Ionita (cello), Dominik Wagner (double bass), Sebastian Manz (clarinet) and Hanno Dönneweg (bassoon).
