Tractor on fire: emergency services prevent anything worse from happening
When the fire fighters arrived, the tractor was already fully engulfed in flames. “Fortunately, the first forces were on site very quickly and were able to contain the fire quickly, even though diesel was leaking,” said Joshua Donath, deputy municipal fire inspector for the Schwalmtal municipality.
According to the fire department, the tractor was a total loss. The owner estimated the damage at 90,000 euros. It is unclear why the tractor caught fire. According to the farmer, the tractor caught fire during normal operational activities near the biogas plant.
According to the fire department, which was deployed with 40 people, the water supply was not that easy. However, the farmer's fire water container was available. Two weeks before 90 people had to be evacuated from the A66 motorway tunnel near Neuhof after a car caught fire there.
