
A driver hit a biker near Schotten on Friday. The seriously injured man was flown to hospital.
Schotten – A serious traffic accident on Friday morning (May 22nd) on federal highway 276 in the Vogelsberg district led to a large-scale operation by emergency services, fire departments and police. At around 10:45 a.m. there was a serious collision between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of district road 141 near Schotten.
Motorcyclist hit by car and seriously injured
According to the police's initial findings, a 71-year-old driver was driving her Frankfurt-registered car on the federal highway towards Gedern. At the intersection in question she intended to turn, but overlooked an oncoming group of motorcycles. The car rammed a motorcycle from the group with the left front side.

The force of the impact caused the 63-year-old biker, who was riding a machine registered in the Steinfurt district, to fall. He sustained serious injuries in the fall. After receiving first aid at the scene of the accident, the man had to be flown to a hospital in a rescue helicopter.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area as much as possible. The police do not yet have any information about the exact amount of property damage caused.
The accident on the B276 is not the first serious accident in recent memory: Just under a month ago, a 22-year-old motorcyclist had a fatal accident near Schotten.
