When unemployed nursing assistant Aldenize Ferreira da Silva from Jaboatão dos Guararapes (Brazil) goes to the employment agency, she has no idea what chaos awaits her. Because there is something in her digital work card that neither she nor the employee can understand: Aldenize Ferreira da Silva is registered as President of the Republic!
“President of the Republic” is looking for a job at the employment agency
Aldenize Ferreira da Silva actually just wanted to look for a new job at the employment agency, but things turned out differently. In an interview with the Brazilian news portal g1, the nursing assistant describes the incident, which initially began completely normally: “The young man takes my CPF number (Brazilian tax identification number) and enters it into the system,” explains Aldenize. But suddenly the employee looked up and said: “You’re not serious, are you?”

Aldenize Ferreira da Silva, who had no idea she had been accidentally promoted, could only ask in confusion. His answer made her panic: “He says: 'How come you have been working for 24 years and two months and have held the office of President of the Republic since March 14, 2002? And then you have the nerve to look for a job here?' For Aldenize it was a moment of pure humiliation: “I felt like a clown!”

The Jaboatão town hall explained the error to g1 with a system change – from the old SEFIP to e-Social. This change resulted in Aldenize's incorrect registration as “President of the Republic”. This title would now also appear on their digital employment and social security card (CPTS).
However, she is not alone in this, as g1 reports. Two other women are also affected by the presidential error. The municipal administration therefore asks anyone who notices similar problems to contact the human resources department.

Fear of prison! Aldenize trembled for her future
For Aldenize, this bureaucratic blunder is anything but funny. She fears that the open employment record will block her job search. “I think I can't find a job precisely because of this problem because it shows that my employment record is still open“, she explains to g1.
But that doesn't seem to be Aldenize's only problem: the employment agency employee even warned her of major problems if she wanted to retire. There would be a risk that her open file would mean she would not receive a pension.
The nursing assistant, who also lovingly looks after older people and children, is exhausted: “At that moment I panicked, I felt terrible. A thousand things went through my head, just the possible consequences, for example that I could go to prison for forging documents. I didn’t cause this.”
The Jaboatão town hall has now asked Aldenize and other affected people to contact the human resources department to have the “presidential entry” corrected. Nevertheless, the shock is still deep in the now hopefully former president!
