At the ZDF television garden, Bernhard Brink runs onto the stage too early. Host Andrea Kiewel reacts quickly.
TV garden breakdown in the middle of the ESC game
“You’re not even allowed to be here yet!” With this sentence, Andrea “Kiwi” Kiewel ensures a real live TV moment on Sunday mornings. At the hit party in the ZDF television garden, Bernhard Brink (74) suddenly appears in the picture, although it is apparently not his turn to appear yet.

Kiwi actually wants to play “ESC intro guesses” with the audience. After the big ESC finale the day before, this of course fits perfectly into the show. But while the presenter is walking through the studio, Bernhard Brink suddenly appears next to her. Kiwi takes it with humor. “The birthday child of the day is already standing here,” she says, briefly hugging the singer and reminding her of his 74th birthday on May 17th.

Bernhard Brink quickly disappears again
Then it becomes clear that the pop star is too early. “My dear Bernhard, you’re not allowed to be here yet,” says Andrea Kiewel. She said to the audience immediately afterwards: “We haven't seen Bernhard yet. He's not even there.” And Bernhard Bring also understands: “Oh, I'll be off then!” Only to be back shortly afterwards to sing his song “Blondes Wunder”.

Nobody came as often as him: Bernhard Brink holds the TV garden record.

Brink holds the television garden record
For Bernhard Brink, who also ventured onto the “Let’s Dance” stage in 2014, the Lerchenberg is almost a second home. According to ZDF, the hit bard appeared in front of the camera in August 2025 for the 41st time in the “Fernsehgarten”. Someone has to break this record first.
