
A BMW crashed on the A66 on Sunday after a tire burst. The driver was coming from a BMW meeting when the rear tire burst. The highway was temporarily completely closed.
Flieden – A BMW crashed into the guardrail on Autobahn 66 on Sunday because of a burst tire. As the police reported when asked, the driver was on the way back from a BMW meeting when the right rear tire burst at around 130 km/h.

According to a reporter on site, the 29-year-old driver from Göttingen was slightly injured in the accident and was taken to hospital. Due to the clean-up work and the accident investigation, the A66 northbound was completely closed for around an hour. Traffic was later diverted to a single lane past the accident site. The rescue service, police and the Rückers and Flieden fire departments with a total of 26 personnel were on site.
An incident a week earlier resulted in much greater traffic restrictions. A car burned in the Neuhof tunnel, causing 80 people to be evacuated.
