There was a serious accident on Saturday night: a van hit a lamppost and overturned. There is no trace of the drivers.
Dietzenbach – Shortly after midnight on Saturday (May 16th) a white Ford Transit left the road in the area of the Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße/Hans-Böckler-Straße roundabout in Dietzenbach. The Southeast Hesse police announced this in a press release.
Drivers flee after a serious traffic accident, leaving behind a field of rubble
For reasons that are still unclear, the van crashed into a street lamp. The force of the impact was so enormous that the vehicle then rolled over and came to rest on its wheels.
However, instead of notifying the emergency services, the two vehicle occupants immediately fled and left the scene of the accident without permission. According to the police's initial findings, the escapees are said to be two bald men.
What remained was a field of rubble: significant damage was caused to both the Ford Transit and the affected street lamp. The police estimate the total damage caused to be around 35,000 euros.
The officials in Dietzenbach have started investigating and are now hoping for information from the public. Witnesses who observed the accident or who can provide information about the two fleeing men are urged to contact the Dietzenbach police station on (06074) 8370.
There was also a mysterious hit-and-run near Hanau a few days ago. After an accident occurred with a Porsche on the A66, the police found the car in a field, with no trace of the driver.
